The busyness of life causes us to miss many little beautiful natural wonders around us. This week I saw one of the most simple and missed wonders. Over night moisture accumulates on anything outside and most commonly on plant leaves.
While working at the golf course, one of my duties is to brush the greens so the mower can cut the grass more efficiently. Brushing the greens is the first task to be completed when I get out to the golf course. While I was brushing one of the greens, I saw the side of green (fringe) sparkling like it had crystals spread all over it.
The sun had rose and was shining down at the perfect angle to reflect off of the dew. The sun and dew created a visual that is similar to looking into a shimmering diamond. This kind of sight is rarely enjoyed because the dew is evaporated shortly after the sun rises.
I tried to snap a photo of it but as you can understand, the iPhone camera is not the best for outdoor photos. However, I shared a photo of it because the dew is still visible. The dew looks more like gray patches on the grass. The next time your up early, take a look at grass or plants near by and you may be fortunate enough to see the shinning crystals.
